Program Overview
The aim of the South Beach Symposium is to promote, develop and advance education, research and care of skin disease in all age groups and offer an exchange of information between physicians and health professionals in the field of dermatology and aesthetics. This program aims to educate physicians about advances in dermatology and aesthetics.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for dermatologists, family practitioners, nurses/nurse practitioners and residents in these programs.

Learning Objectives
After participating in this program, attendees will be better able to:

MEDICAL

  • Define current trends associated with clinical and cosmetic dermatology.
  • Outline the commonly used topical and systemic therapy available for various skin conditions including acne, psoriasis, acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation.
  • Recognize common skin disorders and how to effectively diagnose and treat them.
  • Define and evaluate new treatment algorithms for melanoma.
  • Describe the role of biologics in treatment of psoriasis.
  • Identify new frontiers in Cosmeceuticals.
AESTHETIC
  • Demonstrate advanced techniques in the use and application of various neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
  • Recognize how to prevent and treat complications stemming from a variety of aesthetic procedures.
  • Compare the latest advanced techniques in lasers, light and radiofrequency devices.
  • Describe the latest advances in photodynamic therapy.
PRACTICE MANAGEMENT
  • Identify the rules, regulations, practice management techniques and business information necessary for a successful medical practice.
  • Review risk management strategies for reducing the frequency and severity of malpractice claims.

Program Format
Speakers utilize lectures, panel discussion, Q&A sessions, live presentations, case studies, and interaction with expert faculty to maximize the educational experience for our attendees.

Criteria for Success
To obtain CME/CE credit, please visit the South Beach Symposium website at www.southbeachsymposium.org and click on the appropriate "Claim CME/CE" link. Statements of credit will be awarded based on participant attendance, completion of the request for credit form and evaluation form and may be generated at the evaluation kiosk located at the event. Partial credit is available. Paper evaluation and request for credit forms will be available at the registration desk but they must be completed and turned in on-site before leaving the meeting.
