PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - OPEN TO ALL HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
The aim of the Masters of Pediatric Dermatology is to promote, develop and advance education, research and care of skin disease in all pediatric age groups and offer an exchange of information between physicians and health professionals in the field of pediatric dermatology. This updated one-day program aims to educate physicians about advances in dermatology and supporting children with dermatological diseases.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Pediatric dermatologists, pediatricians, family practitioners, dermatologists, nurses/nurse practitioners and residents in these programs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Distinguish primary therapy for children with psoriasis
- Identify the preferred form of therapy for psoriasis in children
- Review and analyze the benefit to risk differences between approved psoriasis therapeutic agents for children and incorporate these into clinical practice
- Recognize common and important skin disorders in infants, children and adolescents
- Discuss available systemic therapy for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis
- Apply techniques for dermatological issues in children with skin of color patients
- Identify therapeutic approaches for vascular lesions
- Review the common causes of nail problems in children
