Dr. Schachner is a pediatric dermatologist at the University of Miami (UM) Health System specializing in cutaneous infections, inflammatory and inherited skin diseases, and disorders of the scalp and hair in children. As a professor emeritus of UM Miller School of Medicine, he held the Harvey Blank Professorship and continues to co-direct the UM Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. He is a past president of the American Society for Pediatric Dermatology and has authored many publications, most notably “Pediatric Dermatology,” which is used by clinicians to assist in diagnosing and treating pediatric skin conditions.
