Joseph A. Markenson, MD is a rheumatologist in New York, affiliated with Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Having received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine, Dr. Markenson has been in practice for more than 20 years, and specializes in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and lupus. In addition to his hospital appointments, Dr. Markenson serves as Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Through his extensive expertise and clinical specialization, Dr. Markenson has received numerous awards: including Master American College of Rheumatology (2010) and Castle Connolly Top Doctors in New York Metro Area (2002-2018), in addition to Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Lupus Erythematosus Foundation Fellow.
