Activity Overview
Current gaps in management of various dermatologic conditions, including atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne vulgaris, prurigo nodularis, chronic urticaria, alopecia areata, and others, emphasize the need for up-to-date education in these areas. Health care professionals require instruction on the latest guidelines and assessment tools for early and accurate diagnosis, topline clinical safety and efficacy data for new and emerging therapeutics, and expert recommendations for optimal patient care and treatment plan design. The 23rd Annual South Beach Symposium will include expert-led panel discussions, hands-on workshops, live patient demonstrations, the latest therapeutic updates, and interactive case-based discussions guided by world-renowned leaders in dermatology practice and education


Target Audience
This symposium is designed for an audience of physicians, physician assistants, nurses and professional staff members of medical practices specializing in dermatology, pediatric dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery and other dermatologic medical procedures.


Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

General Session

  • Discuss new and emerging therapies for the treatment of Acne.
  • Review the safety and efficacy of new and emerging targeted therapies for treatment of Atopic Dermatitis (AD).
  • Interpret clinical safety and efficacy data as well as expert recommendations for Alopecia Areata (AA) therapies.
  • Review clinical safety and efficacy data for new and emerging agents for treatment of Psoriasis.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for Psoriasis patients based on expert recommendations and patient factors.
  • Outline the safety and efficacy data for new and emerging therapeutics for Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), including biologics and small molecules.
  • Discuss updated treatment options, including clinical efficacy and safety, for patients with Vitiligo.
  • Summarize treatment options for Wound Healing, including measures to minimize scar formation.

Live Injections Sessions

  • Differentiate the efficacy and safety of non-invasive injectable agents that are currently available for facial and/or body rejuvenation, and their injection techniques.
  • Select the appropriate injectable agent based on specific patient characteristics, agent properties, and injection technique, for different areas of the face and body.

Criteria for Success
Certificates of completion will be awarded based on the participant’s attendance and submission of the activity
